About

Join Dan and Stephanie as they talk with Bruce Wayne Knight on sexual intimacy.Dan and Stephanie took some questions from listeners about sexual issues and intimacy issues that may arise in an ND marriage. The book Total Intimacy: A Guide to Living in Color by Deborah Neel and the late Doug Rosenau. While this book is not written for NDCCs, it is a great guide for intimacy on different levels of intimacy and sexual and nonsexual touch that can build bonding and attachment and intimacy. This book is recommended by Stephanie for couples who have done or are doing their work on conflict resolution and ready to work on intimacy. It is Dr. Holmes' opinion that one cannot work on intimacy until wounds and injuries are addressed first. More and better sex does not fix relationship issues. Make sure to go back and listen to the discussion with Dr. Gill part 1 and 2 on attachment and attachment wounds and injuries.About our Guest: Bruce Wayne Knight, from his website: He is licensed in NC.My Background  Born to a hard working couple, I grew up in a small town. I lost my dad at 12 and was propelled in to a turbulent adolescence. Afterwards, I found Christ and felt called into ministry. I completed a Master of Divinity , planted a church in NYC, and eventually stepped down from leadership. That began a ping-pong recovery journey lasting 2 decades of chaotic living. After getting help, the arduous journey necessary to heal, created a passion to give back and a platform of healing. My former training, experience, and 39 + years of marriage combined with a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy and certificate in Christian Sex Therapy prepared me for working with a wide range of issues.Frame of Reference for Doing TherapyMy professional licenses include Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and Clinical Mental Health Counselor(LCMHC). I am a certified sex addiction therapist (CSAT), a certified Christian sex therapist (CST), National Certified Counselor, and a certified clinical trauma professional (CCTP). I am pursuing certification as an emotionally focused therapist and am an ordained minister.I view individuals in the context of their family of origin, am a passionate believer in “attachment theory” (how we bond), and work from a Judeo-Christian worldview.   As God is the perfect model of attachment, there is shared fellowship, mutual love and respect, and positive accountability.  This is the foundation for the secure and safe atmosphere I facilitate in session. I look forward to joining you on your journey. Are you ready to take the first step?Specialties: Sexual addiction and trauma recovery, marital and premarital, affair recovery, sex therapy, and spiritual formation, direction, and healing.Bruce Wayne Knightbruce@charlottetherapy.com | 704-870-0802 or 980-288-2396As Bruce said, he can do telehealth in some states but is located in the Charlotte, NC area.If you are looking for some self-help courses in this area:Another reference about Christian Sexuality by another former student of Dr. Rosenau:Amanda and Andrew a pastor/counselor team do what we think is the sex education all Christian couples should have received but never did.https://linktr.ee/andrewandamandascottLook up this YouTube: Andrew and Amanda Scotthttps://www.youtube.com/c/andrewandamandascotthttps://www.youtube.com/c/AndrewandAmandaScott/videos
