About
Sarah Buffie MSW, LSW, founding director of Soul Bird Consulting believes that nothing has the power to heal like supportive relationships. Specializing in trauma-responsive care, she helps organizations and individuals disrupt current models of thinking by building empathy and understanding around the effects of trauma. Sarah has worked in community organizing, Asset Based Community Development, for over a decade and has a deep passion for her work. Her focus is to spread awareness about how trauma affects the brain and body and teach effective approaches for developing resilience within the people organizations strive to serve, and the people closest to the work, caregivers, and direct providers. With years working closely in her Cincinnati community through her Americorps service as well as abroad with her Peace Corps service in Namibia, Africa, Sarah brings a unique community-building lens to the work.Website: http://www.soulbirdconsulting.info/ Email: sarah@soulbirdconsulting.infoBooks recommended by Sarah:The Pocket Guide to the Polyvagal Theory by Stephen Porges Polyvagal Exercises for Safety and Connection by Deb Dana Individuals with Intellectual Developmental Disabilities by Ruth Myers MDThe Body Keeps the Score by Bessel van der Kolk Widen the Window by Elizabeth StanleyThe Whole-Brain Child Workbook by Daniel SiegelConnect with Sarah:https://www.instagram.com/soulbirdconsulting/ http://www.facebook.com/soulbirdconsulting https://www.linkedin.com/company/soul-bird-consulting/https://linktr.ee/soulbirdconsulting http://youtube.com/@SoulBirdConsultingJoin our supportive Facebook group community: https://www.facebook.com/groups/healthrivedreamConnect with me:Gmail: healthrivedream@gmail.com Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/healthrivedream_ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/healthrivedream YouTube: https://youtube.com/@traumarecoveryexpert Twitter: https://twitter.com/healthrivedream LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/karenrobinson2022/ Website: https://www.healthrivedream.com/ Podcast: http://healthrivedreampodcast.com/abuseLoved this episode?
