Since the inception of the comic book medium, aliens, monsters, and extra-dimensional entities have always been stars of the color soaked page. This commitment of ethereal to panel, a pop culture reiteration of otherworldly phenomena continually finding a prominent place in the folklore of various cultures since the dawn of human history. Tonight on Midnight in Kentucky, we speak with comic aficionado and owner of the Bluegrass state’s largest comic book store, Jason Stephens, as well as folklorist and editor of Kentucky Folklife Digital Magazine, Delainey Bowers- who together host the podcast Comic Virgin. When not immersed in graphic novels, however, Delainey and Jason have also embarked on several investigations of the supernatural, paranormal, and out-and-out weird over the years.
