John 9 details the miraculous healing of a man born blind by Jesus. The man is brought to Jesus by his disciples and Jesus spits on the ground to create mud which he then applies to the man's eyes. Jesus instructs him to wash in the pool of Siloam and miraculously, he is able to see. This healing causes controversy among the Pharisees who question how the man was healed on the Sabbath and if he and Jesus are sinners. The man testifies to his healing and belief in Jesus as the Son of God, leading to his excommunication from the synagogue.
