About

In this episode of The Tragedy Academy Podcast, host Jay Hicks welcomes Krishnni Khanna, a 16-year-old author and TEDx speaker from India. Krishnni shares her journey of immigrating to the United States in 2017, detailing the emotional challenges and cultural adjustments she faced as a young child. The discussion touches on her book 'I Am Not Who You See,' which delves into her personal experiences and offers insights on mental health and wellness for teens and preteens. Krishnni emphasizes the importance of expressing emotions, being authentic, and finding supportive friendships while sharing her future aspirations in psychology and neuroscience. Key Takeaways  Immigrating to a new country can be a challenging experience, especially for children who have to leave behind their friends and familiar surroundings. ️ Finding an outlet to express emotions is crucial for mental well-being, whether it's talking to someone or writing them down. ⚠️ Negative words and experiences can have a lasting impact on one's self-perception, but it's important to recognize that they do not define who you are. Studying neuroscience or psychology can provide a deeper understanding of the brain and human behavior and help make a positive impact on mental health. Building strong and supportive friendships is essential for personal growth and happiness. Embrace your authentic self, and don't seek validation from others. Find coping mechanisms to navigate challenges, such as living with ADHD. Books can make a difference and impact people's lives. Choose a college that fulfills your academic and social needs. Be true to yourself and pursue your passions to affect change in your own way.
