About

Horrible Helene devastated the beaches and many historic buildings. Rui Farias, the executive director of St. Petersburg Museum of History, praises the City of St. Petersburg and Duke Energy for getting the power back on so that artifacts and archives were not lost. He and host Nanette Wiser discussed hurricanes that affected Tampa Bay, the devastation along Gulf Beaches and Gulfport and how the landscape will never look the same when rebuild.  Civitan Beach House (posted on FB) "It is with much sadness and a heavy heart that I must inform you that due to the storm surge from Hurricane Helene, the Civitan Beach House is a total loss.  The Civitan Beach House was first constructed in 1937 and had seen its share of storms over its 87 years. This is one it just could not survive.  The devastation up and down Gulf Blvd is unbelievable. "
