About

The legendary Ozark Howler is a large bear-sized creature with long, shaggy hair with horns, that lurks around the Arkansas wilderness. It’s screeching howl sounds like a combination of a wolf, a hyena and an elk's bugle and is said to be an omen of death for anyone who is unlucky enough to hear it. Encounters with this creature date back to the late 1700’s. This peculiar cryptid is also known as the Hoo Hoo, the Nightshade Bear, and the Devil Cat. And interestingly, an organization called the Concatenated Order of the Hoo Hoo worked with President Roosevelt to create national parks within the United States. Hunters, hikers, campers, and residents who live near the woods have reported recent sightings and encounters with the Howler. So, what is the Ozark Howler?
