Introduction
Taba Chake, is a Mumbai based fingerstyle guitar player, singer-songwriter and a performer who comes from a Nyishi tribal family from a small town called Doimukh in Arunachal Pradesh. His music is inspired by tribal folklore and his intimate connection with nature. Chake is known for his unique vocals, songwriting and performing style. A lot of his songwriting is inspired by Western Pop, Jazz and tribal folk tunes around the world. He sings and writes in Hindi, Nyishi, and English.
Early Career
In 2016, he began touring around India and was able to launch his debut EP ‘Bond with Nature’ later that year. He has performed in music festivals such as Zomaland, Ragasthan, Ziro Festival of Music, Shine A Light, New Wave Asia and Songs and Dances Of NorthEast, NEST FES.t, to name a few. In 2019, Chake released his latest album ‘Bombay Dreams’. The album has hit big numbers on major streaming charts and has made waves in the music industry sitting comfortably along big Bollywood names as well.
